One of the many questions on science and technology is that whether it is good or bad. Reasons on why many people think that it is bad are because of its effects on the environment like pollution, such as Water pollution, and Air pollution. The advancement of science and technology causes much on the pollution of our water resources.
Toxic wastes that are dumped to several bodies of water could cause great destruction on our natural resources, especially our water. The advancement of science and technology also contributes to the pollution of the air that we breathe today. Billions of pounds of toxic pollutants are emitted into the atmosphere which causes breathing problems and it also slowly destroys the ozone layer which causes global warming.
One common effect is that we often get lazy due to the invention of telephones, cell phones, cars, and other things that is being used in our house and communities, it has made people become lazy and they don’t use their strength in doing work. They always depend on scientific tools. On my part, I also experienced that laziness caused by technology. Instead of finishing this blog early, I wasted my time on Facebook, and other computer games.
The worst effect of science and technology is that it is used for doing evil which causes Mass destruction such as nuclear weapons, atomic bombs.
But on the other side, there are also many things that we can say that there’s also something good in technology.
Majority of the people could never deny the good effects of science and technology especially on fast transportation. Science and technology also improves the lives of others.
You can also find jobs easily; communicate with someone far; with the use of cellphones, computer, & etc. With the use of technology you can learn and do your researches 1click away with the use of internet. You can even get the news easily even from far away.
With the use of science and technology, doing chores has made easy. Using mechanical devices, doing heavy jobs won’t be a problem anymore. You won’t have to exert much force because of some devices.
My conclusion would be, science and technology is neither on the side of heroes nor the side of villains. It is just neutral. But it can be used for good, or for evil doings. So be careful with what you make. It can lead you to harm, or lead you to safety.
